Bettina Stevens, DPT

Specialization: Dance-related injuries, pilates-based rehabilitation, general orthopedic rehabilitation, post-surgical rehabilitation

Bettina Stevens brings a unique approach to physical therapy.

As a former professional dancer, she incorporates her passion for dance into her physical therapy career and has a particular interest in working with patients suffering from dance-related injuries.

“I love being able to integrate my dance background with my physical therapy expertise to help dancers learn how to properly recover from injuries and give them a conditioning program that will help them reach their full potential,” Bettina says.

Bettina went into Physical Therapy as a career because she wanted to help people overcome injuries, teach the about injury prevention and give them a better sense of self through exercise and wellness.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and Musical Theatre from Marymount Manhattan College. She then earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Before pursuing physical therapy as a career, she danced professionally for five years.

She now enjoys working with patients of all ages and orthopedic conditions and is a specialist in Pilates-based rehabilitation.

When she is not working, Bettina loves to dance. She teaches at the Charlottesville Performing Arts School. She also enjoys singing, reading good books, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family and friends.
