Carter White, DPT, COMT

Specialization: Sports and general orthopedic injuries, with a special interest in post-surgical rehabilitation of the shoulder and knee as well as manual therapy of the spine and extremities.

Carter White spent a lot of time with physical therapists when he was growing up “due to my natural gift for getting hurt as a kid and while playing sports.”

That, combined with his love of anatomy and his interest in helping people get better made physical therapy a definite career choice.

He now specializes in sports and general orthopedic injuries and maintains a special interest in post-surgical rehabilitation of the shoulder and knee. He is also experienced in manual therapy of the spine and extremities.

Carter received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Mississippi State University in 2005. He also worked with the MSU Sports Medicine and strength and conditioning staff.

He then received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2008.

Carter is also a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist through the Maitland Curriculum and is currently pursuing an APTA board certification in orthopedics.

Since completing his doctorate, he has amassed considerable experience working in the outpatient orthopedic setting with patients of all ages.

When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, his basset hounds, exercising, being outdoors, and going to movies.
