Specialization: general orthopedics, sports- related injuries with special interest in return to play, injury prevention, balance disorders, core stabilization, Rocktape certified
Samantha became interested in physical therapy at a young age. As a competitive swimmer, she experienced her fair share of sports-related injuries and connected quickly with her physical therapist throughout her athletic career. She found physical therapy allowed her to return to sport without restrictions, but also helped prevent injury. She loved learning from her physical therapist and hopes to provide the same education to her future patients.
Samantha graduated from Bridgewater College where she earned her degree in Athletic Training. As an athletic trainer, she worked part time throughout completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Mary Baldwin University's Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences. During her time in PT school, she had a special opportunity to work with people across the lifespan, ranging from the older adult population in rehabilitation facilities to professional and college level athletes in a sports performance facility in Dallas, Texas. Samantha especially enjoys working with individuals with sports related injuries, balance disorders, and would like to pursue a specialization in golf medicine. Samantha takes pride in being able to treat patients across the lifespan and helping people reach their personalized goals!
When Samantha is not in the clinic, you can find her running the streets of Charlottesville, enjoying local vineyards and breweries, or cooking at home and entertaining friends.
