Introduction to Wrist Issues

Physical Therapy in Charlottesville for Wrist

Welcome to the PT@acac’s resource about your wrist.

Wrist injuries are very common because we use our hands and arms for so many of our daily activities, and if we fall, it's most natural for us to put our hands out to catch ourselves or break the fall.  Overuse injuries in the workplace occur frequently in jobs that are repetitive, as in working on a computer or on a line in a factory. Sports injuries to the wrist occur often, they can happen in almost any sport, and are likely to keep you off the field or court while you are healing.

To help you to better understand wrist injuries, their rehab and possibly how to prevent them, we've put together a collection of resources for you to review.  We hope you find them helpful, and feel free to ask your PT@acac therapist any questions you might have about something you've read.

This is a great practice! from the moment I called in to make an appointment to the moment I left after my first appointment they made me feel comfortable. The woman at the front helped me get in at the most convenient time for my work schedule and she was extremely welcoming when I got there. Bobby Blair was a wonderful hand therapist and he made me feel confident in my recovery. I look forward to working with them when needed and I would absolutely recommend anyone who needs PT to check out PT at ACAC - Peter Jefferson Parkway!

I wanted to share a positive experience with you in hope that Sam receives the recognition that he very much deserves. My ten year old daughter has been working with Sam for a few months for physical therapy in the Waynesboro location. We have been very impressed with Sam and are so thankful for his care and attention toward my daughter. Every week he seems to have a new activity for her that is age appropriate and keeps her engaged. He is creative and knowledgeable and always seeks feedback from us and provides updates on her progress. As someone who works in a therapy setting, it is so refreshing to see his approach toward her and her individual therapy needs and we are so grateful for this.
