Speech Therapy

Speech-Language Therapy 

We help patients re-learn and re-build communication, swallowing and thinking skills

after injury, stroke & neurological conditions

In addition to helping patients cope with: 

•  progressive neurological conditons: dementia, Parkinson’s disease, MS, or ALS 

•  Stroke or Traumatic Brain Injury

• Concussion

•  Alzheimer’s Disease

•  Parkinson’s Disease (LSVT Loud Certified)

•  Dementia

•  Head & Neck Cancer

•  Head & Neck Surgery​

•  Lymphedema (swelling) of the head and neck after cancer surgery and/or radiation

We can also help patients if they are: 

•  having trouble swallowing

•  reporting and concerned about mild cognitive impairments affecting their memory, thinking or communicating

• having trouble communicating during medical care visits or relying on a care partner to speak for them

We currently offer speech therapy services to adults.

You do not need to be a member of acac Fitness & Wellness Centers to obtain services from PT@acac.

Megan graduated from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland with a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. After beginning her career in an acute care hospital in Laurel, Maryland, she moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 2005 where she worked with the pediatric population in the early intervention setting. In 2009, she relocated to Charlottesville, VA and continued her career in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. In 2010, she resumed her work with adults in the acute care and outpatient settings at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital.

While working at Sentara Martha Jefferson, she co-developed the cognitive program for patients experiencing memory loss and difficulties with their thinking. As part of this program, she established a dementia and memory loss support group for caregivers. She specializes in working with adults with speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders which may follow an illness, surgery, stroke, or injury. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is currently licensed to practice in Virginia.

Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and four daughters, skiing, playing lacrosse, hiking, and camping in the Charlottesville area.

Caleb Wilson

Caleb graduated from Michigan State University with his Masters Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2017. He started his career in the home health setting working in southwest Michigan.

He has experience working in the private practice setting specializing in Parkinson's Disease while living in northern Colorado. He relocated to the Charlottesville area in the summer of 2022.

He enjoys working with Parkinson's Disease, Traumatic Brain Injury and Stroke with a special interest in treating voice, swallowing and cognitive linguistic disorders. 


Outside of work, Caleb is a long distance runner enjoying ultramarathon trail races, hiking and watching college football.
