What To Expect On Your First Visit

During your first visit to PT@acac you will receive a thorough physical examination of your injury or condition. Our Physical Therapists want to understand the whole picture of your treatment so they can best determine the cause of your pain or discomfort.

Your therapist will be looking at your range of movement, strength, endurance and other physical abilities.

A diagnosis follows the examination and a customized program of treatment will be presented to you.

You will receive your first treatment at this visit as well, so be sure to wear loose and comfortable clothing.

Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to ensure that the paperwork can be expedited.

Bring any notes or forms from your doctor with you to the first session, as well as your insurance card(s) and a list of prescription drugs you are currently taking.

Although many of our clients are from doctor’s referrals depending on your insurance carrier, you may receive treatment at our clinics without being referred by a doctor.

If you normally wear corrective lenses or hearing aids, be sure they are in place for your first visit. Communication between you and your Physical Therapist is crucial.

Child care is available at Albemarle Square and Downtown Charlottesville if you require it

Any additional questions or concerns please call the clinic prior to appointment.

"NOTE: Safety protocols as needed will be performed when you arrive at the clinic by our team. Thanks in advance for your cooperation!"
